Just looking for some advice on what distortion pedal to consider. Currently own a Peavey Classic 30 and although its a great wee amp it does not have enough gain on tap imo to play metal. Looking to play metallica/opeth and my budget it probably around £150.

Any help is appreciated thanks.

Heard good things about the Line 6 Uber Metal. But maybe you might want to look into an overdrive and just boost the distortion the amp has?

I rather agree.

Can sound godly with the right eq.....

Can also sound like nails on a blackboard.....and I mean really sharp nails.

NOTE^ This is the impression I received from a model, NOT the real thing.

Try them out though.

Digitech Death Metal?
Maybe a Hardwire TL-2?

I have a Barber Dirty Bomb that I use with my Classic 50. Check out some demos to see if it's your thing.
