- In Hercules it makes mention of Achilles even though Achilles came way after him.

- Pretty much everything in Pocahontas.

EDIT: Oh yeah, probably a lot of stuff in Brave Little Toaster.

i think a more appropriate topic would be historical accuracies in disney films

I think the claim that people throughout history were able to spontaneously break into song and dance routines, special effects included, is a bit tenuous.

Yeah.

That only happens in India.

They're cartoons. Should we study the fact Spongebob can start a fire underwater also?

Pocohontas was actually raped when she was 13 or something, and had a child, unless I'm mistaken.

Everything I know today I've learned from Spongebob.

Poor you. Spongebob endorses the stereotype the sponges are bad drivers.

Wonderland's Queen of Hearts actually only served for a very short time before contracting Tuberculosis. But in her short reign, she was actually viewed as a very fair queen, and only one execution was carried out through the entire six years under her leadership.

how about the way your entire country generalizes a culture by the actions of a few, citing any Americans idea of a middle eastern person.

Just because it's a cartoon doesn't mean that Disney made it (Brave Little Toaster isn't Disney).

Erm, other than Mulan and Pocahontas, I can't think of any other Disney films that were actually based on historical events. So... /thread?

Hercules - It shows that Hades was behind everything that was done to Hercules when in the myths it was actually his mother Hera. Pretty major flaw in that movie. Also, Chiron, a centaur, was the one who trained Hercules. Not a satyr named Phil.

EDIT: Almost everything in that movie.

Cool Runnings
Rob Roy, the Highland Rogue
The True-Life Adventure series of films
Davy Crockett films
Remember the Titans
Ghosts of the Abyss
Eight Below

And most likely a few others.

I was just thinking the cartoons myself... I'm more "UG's animated Disney fan". Live action does nothing for me, usually. Love Cool Runnings though.

Jamaica, we have a bobsled team...

They don't. Mufasa's kingdom only lies under everything that can be seen from Pride Rock. You silly.

Mind = blown. I seriously had no idea... it's definitely one of those "distributed by Disney" things and not an actual product of Disney studios, but damn, -1 for me.

Davy Crockett films

Born on a mountain top in Tennessee,
Greenest state in the land of the free.
Raised in the woods so's he knew every tree,
Killed him a bear when he was only three.

Davy, Davy Crockett King of the Wild Frontier.

Fought single handed through the Injun war,
Till the Creeks was whipped and peace was restored.
And while he was handling this risky chore,
Made himself a legend, forevermore.

Davy, Davy Crockett the man who don't know fear.

He went of to Congress and served a spell
Fixin' up the government and laws as well.
Took over Washington, I heard tell,
And patched up the crack in the Liberty Bell.

Davy, Davy Crockett, seein' his duty clear.

When he come home, his politickin' was done,
While the western march had just begun.
So he packed his gear, and his trusty gun
And let out a grinnin' to follow the sun.

Davy, Davy Crockett, Leadin the Pioneer.

Literally my most favorite movie of all time

It's well known that Santa Ana had a pretty sizable army, and that there were about 3 survivors of this incident (Crockett is rumored to be one of them)
and i hate how they forget the battle of Battle of San Jacinto
