Worth watching if only for Dawkins' look of complete shock when it happens.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECE77Imki9M

I just don't understand how someone this stupid, ignorant and obnoxious can have a tv show in what's supposed to be an educated first world country.

I feel sorry for every american right now who has to live in a country were they let this guy on TV.

Also 'Science doesn't advance the human condition', even with the disclaimer 'in any moralistic way', I still wanted to throw my computer through my window.

What's even funnier is that he thinks we should follow the teachings of christ and yet he's an intolerant warmongerer.

'You present in a science classroom all the alternatives that are legitimate', great then he agrees we should only be teaching evolution.

'There are more believers than non-believers', argument ad populum FTL.

I'm so sick of people like O'Reilly, to twist a quote from South Park: "This what happens when you give O'Reilly his right to free speech!"

In the UK personal opinion is not allowed on the BBC, and for that I am grateful, it means we don't get closed minded people like O'Reilly

My thoughts exactly. Dawkin's carries himself with such dignity and composure that it sort of speaks for itself. Actions speak louder than words.

My hatred for Fox news grows...

O'Reilly is such a ****. While I myself belive in a 'higher power', Dawkins wins here. Dawkins seemed to even be open to the idea that a higher power watched over evolution, because we don't know exactly how it started. But Reilly just closes off everything that isn't perfectly in line with his view.

How has he not been thrown off air yet?

I like dawkins much more, but to be fair to O'riely dawkins didn't change his point after he said to just make it an option for religion to be taught. I don't see any problem with that. Me not being religous at all would not care if they at least had maybe an optional class for it in school.
O'riely isn't terribly stupid, he is just a douche and isn't very fair to the people he interviews.
Dawkins still wins imo.

Not to people with a confirmation bias. I talked to a group of about 50 libertarians who were big fans of Fox news, their conversations on the topic would pretty much revolve around "wow what a good program "about o'reilly or beck, or "man that guy was ignorant" to one of their guests.

Should we teach very other creation myth too, just to give people the option ya'know

Oh jeez...Bill O'Reilly does not represent Christians. Just wanted to get that out of the way (not criticising anyone here, just wanted to make sure no one makes the connection...)

Bill O'Reilly is a massive tool. Seriously, the biggest tool who have ever managed to get on television. Even by FOX's standards. I don't even know why people agree to go on the show because they just get abused and yelled at (maybe they get a bit of dough...). Anyway, the guy's a prick so no one take him seriously, please.

I always found it weird that a lot of guys "advertising" in their sigs and stuff that they are atheist, god doesn't exists and things like that. Atheism seems to be popular among the American youth.

But i understand them. It's like the american media tries to put the most ridiculously stupid believers to the TV screen to give religion a bad name.

I am an atheist myself. But i actually respect the catholics and other believers in my country because of their values. The church don't try to advertise itself, you don't see demonstrations and stuff here. Actually they have very limited media coverage. But they are there when a school is about to close, or someone need help with their lives after coming off drugs, or they help to show burnt-off couples what to do in a relationship besides sex, they raise orphan kids and do many good things.

Tbh, I think Dawkins is a tool too.

I'm an atheist myself, but evangelical atheists annoy me just as much as evangelical christians. It's ironic in a way, there used to be a stigma against atheists but now atheists are creating a stigma against religous people.

If people aren't doing any harm, which the vast majority of religous people aren't, then I don't see why Dawkins cannot just leave them alone.

Assuming that you meant the word libertarian in it's original and proper sense as proponents of anti-authoritarian socialism I find it strange that they would be watching Fox News of all things.
