Alright so I've come across a potentially great deal, a guy selling a Marshall half-stack. It's a TSL 60 head with a 1960A 4x12 cabinet, complete with the 5 button Marshall footswitch. All for $1200 CDN, roughly $1000 American I guess?

I'm upgrading from a Traynor YCV40 which, despite my pedalboard, still doesn't deliver enough 'umph' for my liking.

What do you guys think?

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

I think it should be about $100 - $200 less. I see alot of them for around that, like right now on my CL there's a TSL 100 with the same cab, Boss DD2 and some overdrive pedal and a bunch of nice cables for $850 US.

its a bit high, but in canada? maybe not... i would probably do it if it suits what you play.
I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger, then it hit me.

I'd only get it if you a gig a fare bit, not just cause its a 4x12 but also my marshall DSL sounds awful at lower volumes.

I could probably talk him down to $1000, that'd be pretty fair I imagine.
