You are going to find SX lovers on here and TB, but I've rarely seen one that didn't require a good set up and some mod work from the get go.

I play SX's. I love them. I own them. Personally i have only tried P-Basses by them, almost all their models.

I havent played the pirate SX, but i have heard it enough to say it would just need a good set up to be good, like any other instrument. You may have the best instrument in the world, if its poorly set up it wont be worth a dime playing it...

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.

Sx basses get pretty good reviews. I personally own an SX GG1 Jr and it's a very nice guitar, I did 3 upgrades on it, tuners, nut, and bridge. I couldn't imagine doing much else. I mean look at the specs on their guitars dude Ash, Adler, and Manogany form under 200 bucks, that's a great mod platform in my book. Even stock the GG1 was good, better than Squiers of the same price.
MIM Fender Telecaster
SX GG1 Junior (Les Paul Special clone)
Dillion Canada DXC 58 (DC Les Paul Junior)
Fender Joe Strummer Telecaster
Squier CV Duo Sonic
Epiphone Les Paul Junior Special
Squier Jazz Bass
Vox DA 15
Fender FM 212R

^At that price, either the wood is crap, or they scrimp on other areas.

Low profit margins, batch production, and cheap labor. All three really cut the price down. The only problem with the wood is that they don't match the grain s up on multi-piece bodies.
Nope, no sig here.

Don't worry, I've already wanted it. no monies

I would be all over that like Malmsteen on a clumsy airplane attendant.

I check craigslist multiple times a day.
