I have active pickups on my kkv and passive pickups on my epiphone. Just out if curiosity, to expand my knowledge of this stuff, is there any reason or need to raise or lower passive pickups like you do on actives?

yes
The world doesn't revolve around you. If it does, beware. You're probably about to pass out drunk.

The 19 year old who knows his stuff. Most of the time.

And the reason for lowering or raising?
Yes doesn't help much no offense

Same reasons you would raise or lower with actives. To change the placement of the strings relative to the magnetic field created by the magnet in the pickups.

They're both pickups that work the same way, the same laws of physics applies to both.

Ok. I guess I was misinformed somewhere that the magnets in actives and passives are different. If I'm not mistaken they are different and that's why actives work differently than passives but it's the same general idea for raising and lowering passives?
