The Middle - Jimmy Eat World and pretty much any Blink 182 or Sum 41.

I definitely agree with Jimmy Eat World and Blink-182.
"Are You Gonna Be My Girl?" (JET) and "Crazy Bitch" (Buckcherry) would be fun ones, might have to censor the second one a little bit though =P
I played "Panama" (Van Halen)for a similar gig and the crowd loved it- just an idea.

"Use Somebody" - Kings of Leon - Pretty easy song
"All the Small Things" - a bit older, but always a crowd pleaser.

I like the "Are you gonna be my Girl" reference, and "The Middle"

I'd look to Guitar Hero and Rock band for some inspiration, a lot of those songs can be done very easily, and a lot of folks will know tham thanks to Harmonix and Activision.

Against Me - We Laugh at Danger and Break All the Rules. If a few people in the crowd know it, you'll have a nice singalong going.

The Kids Aren't Alright- The Offspring.

Honestly, the vocals will probably sound pretty bad in a high school band (horrible generalization sorry), but as long as the drums are good and everybody else keeps tight, you should definitely have them going.

Nothing wrong with broadening your style, imo, and these could be slipped in with the rest. The One Drop will have them groovin'
