recently acquired this.

great sound, but the thing is not in proper working condition I think a wire or two are shot.

it lets the signal through when I have the compression off, not when it's on though.

it worked when I picked it up, I need to figure this thing out though.

it does crackle and pop though when I mess with the cords.

thoughts?

This is probably a stupid suggestion, but do you have the right power adapter? Alesis hardware tends to be picky about what adapter you use.

I'm going to lend my support to this ridiculous claim. I had a 10-channel Alesis Mixer and it did not agree with my Super Nintendo power adaptor despite being identical voltages and stuff.
