I'm going to buy some strap locks this weekend but I can't decide on which to buy.

What are your experiences with them and what are the best to your knowledge?

I have Schaller straplocks and they work really well. I first had the problem after I put them in that the wood where they were screwed in was stripped and I had to tighten them every once in a while, but I eventually just put some super glue on them and they have stayed ever since. The pin to pull the strap off workes perfectly. I know my strap would break before the strap locks.

Here they are on Schaller's site: http://schaller-guitarparts.de/hp135050/Security-Lock.htm

I highly reccomend them

I have 3 sets of Schallers and 1 set of Dunlops. The cool thing about the Dunlops is that they are shaped like a normal button, so in a pinch you can use it with another strap (without the other end of the locks installed).

Dunlops also take up a little less space and aren't as pointy (this matters if its going to contact your body frequently. That's why I have Dunlops on my Ibanez XPT700 instead of Schallers. They may be more comfortable on an SG too, but you may want to relocate the neck-side straplock anyway.

Schaller screws are smaller than Fender & Squier screws. They were about the same as Schecter's. Don't know about Epi. I had to shim them with toothpicks on both Strats. Couldn't use the guitars' screws because the heads were too big to fit into the lug.

I don't recommend any of the other locks out there.

So far it's in between Dunlop and Schallers.....
Which would be better?
Schaller?

What body style is it..a Strat a V etc...also how do you wear your guitar...my friend wears his on such a weird angle that every set of Dunlops he's gotten, the piece on the strap falls off from the piece on the guitar, so he got Schallers and has no problems.
It's all preference really

I wasn't talking about how high you hold your guitar..i meant the angle the neck is at...but either should be good...i recommend the Schallers due to personal experience and preference
