I'm trying to record some stuff at my house and all I've got to use (that I could borrow from someone) is...

Behringer 'Super Cardioid XM1800S' Microphone.
Behringer 'Xenyx802' Mixer.

I'm having trouble recording anything into Audacity. I'm using a power cord to the mixer, a stereo output into the computer's microphone input and just plugging the mic into the mixer.

The microphone is only picking up noises REALLY close to it and all it picks up is really distorted, even though the EQ on the mixer is all at 12 o'clock positions. Everything apears to be working but I can't record anything that actually sounds like what it is, because of the distortion and how hard it is to record.

Can anyone give me any advice or help? I'm really lost.
