Does anyone know anything about The Vines' lead singer Craig Nicholls' guitar? I know its a custom tele but I was wondering if anyone had any other info on it. I love the sound he gets out of it on some of their albums. Thanks!!!

Heres some videos showing the tele

i dont think its a fender actually, the top horn isnt rounded enough, kinda sharp. might just be a custom.
you could warmoth your own, just tele shape with strat headstock and duckbuckers.

well i know its a fender. he has described it as a telecaster. its definately not as sharp as a strat, almost in between. plus the two humbuckers suggest a tele. but im just curious about the guitar and where he got it. it appears as though the fretboard has no inlays either. found that cool

tele refers to the rough shape not the brand. the 2 humbuckers (they are either duckbuckers or minibuckers) dont suggest anything. its obviously based on a tele but i would say its most likely a custom job from a small company/luthier.

Edit: also the sound is mostly his amp. so if you like his tone look at what amp/effects he used.

in that link somebody says it's a Tom Anderson Cobra. but if it is it's definitely got a replacement neck. it looks like a rosewood warmoth neck, since there's no question thats a strat headstock.

This guy seems to say it is a S&S which I linked earlier and really I would have to agree with him.

yeah, looking at the upper horn i'll say S&S too. **** it but possibly a custom neck too. if it's a custom order it wouldn't be hard to believe he asked for a different headstock too.
