Lets get a convo going about the most metal album covers of all time: im not talking about gory or pornographic (i already found that thread /cringe)i mean true metal the best way i can describe it is by giving my 3 picks:

1: Judas Priest- Painkiller
a metal god riding a dragon-motorcycle over a post apocalyptic landscape...EPIC

2: Metallica- Metallica
its black...enough said.

3: Yngwie Malmsteen- Trilogy
now seriously think about it, Yngwie fighting off a three-headed dragon with a guitar...i define that as being pretty metal.

Runner up:

anything by Iron Maiden.

anyway post away and let us know what you think!
Gear:
Epiphone Viola Bass
Gibson SG Standard
Fender Strat
Fender Acoustic
Line 6 Spider 2 150 watt
Line 6 POD Xt Live
Ibanez Ts-9 Tubescreamer

This seems like a good place to ask, I once saw an album cover in the Pit that had some sort of machine with a plow on the front and I think it was running people over. It was definitely one of the most badass album covers I have seen, but I can't remember the name, does anyone know the album in question?

I salute you sir.

What about Suffocation's Effigy of the Forgotten cover?
That's the kind of imagery I'd put with the post-apocalyptic side of things..

What was that band that had a picture of themselves eating their singer's brains who committed suicide on their album cover? Yeah, that would be the most metal album cover.

Holy crap, I'm actually listening to that right now... for the second time in a row. Ziltoid is one of the best albums and Devy is like the Zappa of Metal.

Interesting sidenote: Vai once played in Zappa's band, and Townsend was once in Vai's.
