Basically ive heard that if you have a non-pasturized bottle of apple cider and leave the cap open a little bit in the fridge for a couple days it will make alcohol.

Anyone done it before? cause i dont think its really that easy

Why don't you just buy cider?

get pure apple juice, add lots of pure cane sugar, let it ferment in the sun for a few weeks, then you've got hard cider

while i'm all for the moonshinin' goin' on in these here parts...

they sell hard cider. Hornsby's. usually sold at most liquor stores. it's pretty damn good. much easier, faster, and probably cheaper in the long run.

but, since we're cooking it ourselves here, i say we keep on keepin' on. i do love my alcohol...

this is true, but it is always good to have a last resort.

Plus if it did make alcohol you could freeze the cider and separate the alcohol

Don't you have to worry about methanol when brewing your own alcoholic beverages?

Isn't there already alcohol in apple cider? I'm pretty sure the one I drank before had alcohol in it already.
