Hey, I am looking for an article from some news outlet that clearly displays bias in one way or another by skewing facts and statistics. I was thinking about an article on America's health reform seeing as there has been a huge debate on that and would seem like a subject which would have tons of fake facts and statistics. So if anyone could a post a good article that they have read or seen then that would be great.

Look at any article on drug use where they deliberately leave stuff out. Like when they say 'Smoking cannabis leads to a 50% increased risk of developing a third testicle!!!!' where they don't tell you the original risk of developing a third testicle is only 1%, raising your chances of getting it to a whopping 1.5%.

They do this in almost every article on marijuana I've ever read.

You keep seeing songs like KoC, SMBH, and Hysteria showing up on games, but I want Micro Cuts on either Rock Band or Sing Star. I want to see numerous masses of kids staring at the tv wondering what the hell they're supposed to do.

Why the hell would anyone want a third testicle? Increases the area in which you do NOT want to get hit.

Investors Business Daily, a US newspaper, recently published an article claiming that Stephen Hawking would be dead had he to be born in Britain with their Socialised Medicine NHS system. Of course they forgot that Hawking is British and has lived there all his life and came out to credit the NHS with saving his life.
You won't find a finer example of ridiculous and obvious bias.

Bull****...

What masamune said is an example of a bias statistic, ie "100% of things said on Fox are wrong". Use that one!

Of course what I said is an exaggeration. I don't actually believe that everything on Fox is false.
There is however a fair amount of lying. Especially that one report they did where they said that marijuana will kill you.

I've seen personally several programs on Fox designed to show that marijuana is NOT deadly... Mostly from California farmers too, who know a lot more about it than you.

Well good, I'm glad they did that.

can anyone post some specific articles on their topic. I seem to be having trouble finding some of articles you guys are talking about. And it looks like the majority feel that Fox News is really biased, so can anyone post an article written by them that really shows this.

Investor's business daily have since removed the original article. However relevant parts are cited in other articles and their (excuse for a) retraction is available here

While that article is pretty good it kind of lacks the statistical bias I am looking for.

One thing I noticed about the media is: Bush isn't as bad as they make him out to be. Obama isn't as great as they say he is (I'm not saying he's bad)

anything from the Australian shows 'A Current Affairs' or 'Today Tonight' I remember an article where they claimed that 1 in 2 Australian school children are involved with the selling or usage of drugs, or something along that vein, and many many more ridiculous ones
