I'm a guitarist interested in picking up the bass sometime and I've looked at these basses at Rondo and they seem like they'd be good, I mean I was looking at a squier 5 string and I see a similar item at Rondo for half the price plus I hear they're relatively well made.

I'm not rich nor do I have a job (I'm only 16) I only have like 100 some dollars so I'd like to know if these are good investments? Are there bad shipping costs? or something I'd like to know stuff like this in advance before I try buying one. A good answer would be appreciated thank you.
Stuff:
ESP/LTD EC-200QM (with SD Distortions)
1986 Charvel Model 4
2013 Ibanez RG7421WH

Amps
Marshall MS-2 microamp (a POS)
B-52 LG-100a head (Not bad)

Pedals
Digitech Grunge distortion

The electronics aren't always so good and sometimes on 3 piece bodies the wood grain doesn't match up. Otherwise SX isn't all that bad if you get it set up right.

I think its 20 or 30 bucks for shipping thats about how much it was for me when I bought a guitar from them.

Rondo has great shipping, cheap and fast.

Yeah the 5-string J looks nice but make sure you obtain a bass amp to play it through, because the low B will tear through a guitar amp pretty fast

Yeah, my bro wants me to get a bass amp anyways because he's a big doom/sludge/stoner metal fan.

Then go for it, just make sure you have it set up by a luthier or repair person

Now that you've got me thinking of SX basses, I wonder if I could do this as a project bass? I've already got a jazz pickup I can use, bridges, tuners, etc

I would take the P-bass, it looks good, comes with an amp(for starting it will keep you going),tuner (even tho they are ten a penny nowadays).

Its the better of the 2, and it will save you finding an amp further down the road, also if you keep continuing with bass you can start customising it as the SX basses are well known for use as project basses aswell.

And theoretically that package kills 2 birds with 1 stone.

It's hard to beat that pack for the price, but in general most of those extras really aren't that great. You'd be better off grabbing one of their basses and getting the rest elsewhere. However, if it's a choice between having cheap accessories and not having any at all, then by all means grab the pack.

Also, I read somewhere that the basses in the packs at rondo aren't as good as the other ones...not sure if that's true but it would make sense, given the price of the pack. It should still be just fine for your first bass though.
Nope, no sig here.

Rondo does have some good stuff, but I do not lie when I say SX has made the worst instruments I have ever played in my life.

Rondomusic has pretty good instruments indeed, but SX basses are not one of them.
Fender Jaguar -> Polytune -> Diamond Compressor -> Timmy -> OCD -> Big Muff -> Line 6 M9 -> Sonomatic Cheddar -> Spark boost -> Fender BDRI
