Hey guys what's up? I am going to be acquiring a nice all tube head here soon (NAD to come!) and am going to want to try an OD pedal for some lead boost. What is the best one out there for the price? Cheaper is better obviously. Mainly, go between these four:

Ibanez Tubescreamer (any Ts-808, Ts-9, Ts-9DX)
MXR Zakk Wylde overdrive
Boss SD-1
Digitech Bad Monkey

I play hard rock/metal (Black Label Society, Pantera, Godsmack). Like I said, it will be used for a lead boost.

Let me know what you suggest!
Thanks

EDIT: Budget $100 and under

Wait until you get the amp first then decide what you need. Research OD's based on the particular amp you end up with.

The Bad Monkey is a great clean boost, but it's just meh for adding gain.
The Tubescreamers are all different.
Consider a Maxon OD808 if you need higher gain.

But again, let the amp dictate.

if you just want a boost i would have to say go with the bad monkey.

if you want to change your tone and feel you need some real grit the MXR wylde, ive noticed its not that transparent, it really colors any amps tone, not that its a bad thing just saying, it sounds really good.

if you want something that can give you more gain, gives you one hell of boost, and be flexible with your sound, the DIGITECH cm-2 pedal, just as transparent and smooth as an Ibanez but with more gain and more tone control with the thanks to the extra EQ knob, its a better pedal for the same price. atleast i think. it also seems to provide more of a boost than your regular ts9.

awesome, yeah I'm looking for a straight up lead boost. The amp is an Ampeg VL-502 for the record; a JCM 800 on steroids pretty much if that helps at all. I don't want to add grit to my cleans, just for when I go to a solo section stomp on the OD and get a little help haha

Thanks for all the replies so far!

it's good but breaks easily and fast

well I don't want that haha I'll steer clear of that one. Anyone else have reliability issues with the Wylde OD?

danelectro cool cat drive. the older one with the gold stick is a very similar circuit to the fulltone OCD. i use it on my 6505, and it turns an amazing sound into something almost orgasmic. plus its a great overdrive sound on the clean channel as well.

I've never had that problem. unless you give them unreasonable wear, they'll last a long time. but the finish is quite soft, so it marks easily. but if you don't care that much, it's a great pedal as a boost.

thanks guys...what I'll edit the originally post to a budget under $100. I'm sure some of the pedals you are suggesting are great but I don't want to spend over $100. Should have said that originally...my bad
