i read this article and tought it was pretty funny.

its talking about how the government is going to start launching gov. propoganda in conjunction with the media.

i bet alot of right wingers are ganna be pissed of and get there lynches ready, but come on whats wrong whith the messages being conveyed.

we need more stuff like this in times of economic distress, i dont see the big deal with it, why do people get all ancy when Obama tries to do something good.

this reminds me of the obama school talk, what the hell was srong with that.

Dear Republicans in the Media:

We implore to you cease attempting to instill fear in the hearts of Americans because you disagree with the president's actions.

Seriously, one man controls all of their media and they freak out when Obama decides to do the same thing.

This might be better suited in the political thread though.

I don't believe that Obama will put this plan into action, either. Half the crap that I hear Obama is going to do these days is fabricated by the media in order to make him look like some extremist crazy communist.

Did I say liberals aren't fuckheads?

At least they have a reason to do so.

Let me restate my opinion: the majority of politicians are fuckbuckets who use their influence in their profession to promote their own selfish agenda.

Liberal or republican, who cares.

i geese the reason there making a big thing about it is because, i guese all the big guys are ganna be working together with the gov side by side fox, adc, cbs, nbc and wataver they own(fox new, cnn, MSNBC, radio, etc).

i gees whatever programing(show) they put on during two weeks is ganna have to be related to whatever it is the white house wants to portray to the american people.

mainly.

education and children
energy conservation, and climate change
health and well-being
financial security
service and volunteer as a promise and price for our citizenship
and support for military

if bush did it, it would have been all right, but now a democrat does it and everyone is in cahoots, its just so funny.

You are a little bit ignorant of the facts here.

If this is true, this is propaganda. It's that simple.

But I do not believe Obama would monitor everything that goes through your TV in order to make it some sort of left-wing propganda machine.

What, did you forget about the FCC? We're already monitored.

However, the Right Wing would indeed want you to believe that. The worlds going to hell in a hand basket! Round up the cattle and grab your six shooter, the President is givin us propergander!

No. It's not gonna happen man. But they want you to believe it is. Republican media profiteering on the American's ignorant fear of socialism.

Also, we already have one man controlling 60% of the television you watch. Rupert Murdock. He owns the majority of the entertainment industry and the bulk of his power lies at Fox.

So you see the ignorance now? Your TV is already censored and screened by an old rich conservative bastard, and monitored by the FEDERAL Communications Commission.

Remind me why this is so unprecedented?

... none of them write their own speeches, that doesn't count as an argument.

And oh no, a politician flip flopped his views on gay marriage. The world's going to hell!

He's a politician. He says what the crowd wants to hear. They all do.

Alot of the presidents before Roosevelt wrote their own speeches. After Roosevelt I dont think they wrote their own speeches.

But, my point is, Obamanation fliped his views, I thought he was supposed to be a prodige or the messia or something? Anyone with a spine would never flip their views just to get some approval from a group of people. I certinaly dont change my views on things just to get someone to like me.

Yeah, well, as much as you'd like it to be, Obama flip flopping his views depending on the audience and not writing his own speeches are not valid reasons to hate him, seeing as every single other politician does the same exact thing.

That's called selective criticism.

I dont hate him, and I dont hate anyone, except mabey my ex, but I just think he is a spineless idiot politician that has no experience in politics. Its not like we had much of a choice in the elections.

But your right, pertty much all politicans are the same.

My theory on the histeria of late in the US:

During the Bush Administration, "conservatives" (BTW I hate using these labels that are stupidly broad) watched Fox which we all know is owned and actively controlled by Rupert Murdoch. While Bush was doing some pretty major stuff, like two wars, bad domestic policy, Katrina etc, Fox played down the seriousness of it all and painted those who disagreed as left wing extremists.

Democrats, or liberals tried to get answers on pretty evil **** like the wars and the reasons given for it, and were stonewalled by the administration and vilified by Fox. They tried to play it off like it was an administration being an effective government.

Now Obama is in power, conservatives are used to seeing oppositions getting rowdy like they saw on Fox (like liberals were when getting stonewalled and frustrated) and they think it is how they should act. Egged on by Fox and ******s like Glenn Beck they believe the nation is 'under attack by liberals' and are acting like psycho's, when in honesty, from an outsie perspective, Obama is cleaning up the mess of the Bush Administration and actually trying to do some good in the country. For Gods sake, how on earth is trying to get some sort of benevolent healthcare bill on the same level as starting two wars in terms of "ruining the country"?

Now I'm not stupid to think that Democrats are angels, but the Republican party has got to have some of the least principled members who are only interested in either fattening their bank accounts or imposing Bronze Age Philosophy on such a wide and diverse society.

/End rant
