When I try to slide between power chords.. like continuously, such as the riff in Iron Man, it seems to me that the "sound" fades out after 2 slides or so. Is this something with the guitar, or is there somehow more to sliding? (In other words, as I continue sliding but it becomes inaudible soon)

Depends on what guitar you have, if the frets are good... Strings being non-dead.

I find it comes with practice.

For power chords, I find it's best if you slide really quickly and aggressively between them.

Junior's usually at least a little terse, but he knows his stuff. I've always read his posts in a grouchy grandfather voice, a grouchy grandfather with a huge stiffy for alternate picking.
Besides that, he's right this time. As usual.
