Here's a screenshot of our lovely community page.

It's a gonner isn't it? It only does it on black webpages (well.. mostly, by far). My screen just turns into something from the matrix and the text become unreadble unless I highlight it and click off.

Wat.

Restarting won't fix my graphics card. It's been doing this for months.. it's just starting to drive me batshit insane.

Yes, your graphic card is almost giving up, have it replaced...

#14
you have got all the new drivers and stuff installed right?

try reinstalling it.
#15
Does this only happen in the browser? also a corrupt driver can cause random problems like this.

video cards usually dont fail unless your pc was made in 1995 or something lol. hard drives on the other hand die in a matter of years because of all the moving parts or excessive heat

You. Sir.
I provided you with your ego boosting signature. Sit down.

@Everyone else:
It'd been doing it this bad for a couple weeks and my brother fixed it temporarily, then it started doing it again and sometime in August, the computer went up with a bang. The power pack (or whatever it's called) blew. My dad got a new one, and the display is as bad as before.. the monitor also makes a really loud tinnitus esque noise when turned on for the first few minutes.

..I think I should just get a new computer..

More than likely, your mobo has onboard graphics.

Take out your GPU, problem fixed!

If it shorted, then it probably fucked everything that was connected to it up.

Probably not.

If the PSU goes, that's it.

If every time your powersupply failed it killed your entire system, I'm sure that most companies that make them would be under thousands of law suits right now.

Failing isn't necessarily shorting.

I can safely say that your graphics card has severe corruption. Same thing happened to mine, send it back if you can, or just buy another.

If it shorts, it may have a higher chance at damaging the rest of your system than a normal failure, but that rarely happens.

Hmm, it's tough to say. If the power supply doesn't have enough draw, that could be causing your display problem, as well as other issues you may be having. There's really no solution to your problem without spending money. You could ask your friends, someone might have a spare power supply you could try swapping that out and see if it does any better. You could also try reseating your video card (removing it completely and plugging it back in to ensure the connection is solid) and make sure all your cables are secured properly (power running to the card, cable going to your monitor, etc).
