I'm looking for a quote that sounds so utterly pompous and ignorant that it wants to make you puke.

any ideas?

EDIT: something more like a speach from president Bush, but I don't want something so predictable.

If they cannot eat bread, then let them eat cake.

Although it's a mistranslation, as the second part of the original "quote" is "u'ils mangent de la brioche"- let them eat brioche, which is a sweetbread. And I put "quote" because it was most likely made-up, and not spoken by Marie Antoinette. The original French quote is simply ignorant, because both bread and brioche use flour, and the quote was allegedly spoken during major flour shortages in France. The mistranslation is even more ignorant and pompous, because cake was far more expensive than both bread and brioche, something which Marie Antoinette, a member of the aristocracy, was pretty indifferent to (apparently).
