at the moment i have an ESP LTD M10, and i want to get some new pick ups,

ive been looking at the EMG 85 and 81, but if i get the 85 first,
85 in the bridge and 81 in the neck?

would that be the best way to go and why cause im confused
im mainly a rhythm player, and i play metallica pantera that sort of stuff if it helps

cheers

yes, the 85 is best suited to the bridge. and the 81 is alright for cleans. you could also have a look at an 89 instead of the 81. generally emgs are great for metallica and pantera.

Actually its the opposite. 1 usually is in the bridge and its terrible in the neck. the 85 sounds okay in the bridge, better in the neck. Emg 60 in the best for cleans in the neck, but what amp do you have?

You would probably want a 81/60, for the clean passages in the songs you like.

Also look into the 18v mod, try it and decide, its terribly easy.
