When you extend your leg it feels like your kneecap is keeping it from going further. Your tendons and ligaments are whats stopping the motion from continuing. In your case that didn't happen. You might have hyperextended something. Other than that you should be ok. You would be in an excrutiating amount of pain if you ripped or broke something

Did you hyper extend it by chance? Give it some time, and if it doesnt get better, go see a doctor.

See a doctor, sounds like it could be tissue damage. Giving it time wont do anything if there's damage, the body is amazing but not so amazing that you can walk something like that off. Meniscus, ACL/PCL tears are nothing to mess with.

So basically Grindar, relax. A bat hitting your knee wouldnt deliver the right lateral pressure at the right angle to bend your knee backward. I'm sure it's happened plenty of times to plenty of people, just not you

oh i had that too a couple years ago on both knees

Something similar happened to me. It turned out to be a growing problem where one muscle in my leg was bigger than another muscle or tendon or something. I don't remember exactly what it was. And you should see a doctor.

The kneecap slipping thing used to only happen once in a while, but it got worse and started happening multiple times every day. I ended up on crutches for a month because it locked.
