I'm looking at options for a new amp for Christmas (i know it's a long way off, but i'm broke, and it's the only way i can get a new amp :P). Anyway, my price range is about ehh $350-400.

here's the deal, I want an amp that will take very well to a huge array of effects. I'm looking to play experimental/alternative stuff (Muse, Radiohead, stuff like that). So not only amp recommendations, but maybe multi-effects boards too..(i'm on a budget here, so i can't go too crazy)

thanks for the help!

Will you be gigging, or is this just bedroom practice? Do you have a tube/solid state preference? Are you willing to go used?

it's so cool to hate Gibson, even the federal Department of Justice hates them.

no gigging, i don't have a huge preference between tube and SS (what's your opinion on that?).

i'd be willing to buy used, yes.

If 350's just for the amp:
Peavey ultra or a flextone.

If not:
vox ac4 and digitech rp-355.
