Mad Season
Babes in Toyland
Mother Love Bone
Green River
Candlebox
Hole
Mudhoney
Corrosion of Conformity had a grungy period
Temple of the Dog
L7 (hate them, but I guess they belong here...)
The Toadies
And though their sound was a lot more lighthearted, I think Blind Melon is definetly up there
Also, the first Radiohead album sounded like it was heavily influenced by the Seattle bands, way more than Britpop (listen to "You")
And oh, the first two Stone Temple Pilots albums were pretty good too, people just hated them because Scott Weiland did the Eddie Vedder-thing on Plush, but who didn't really...

Surprised at some that haven't been mentioned.

Mudhoney
The Melvins
Mother Love Bone
Babes in Toyland
I almost don't want to say Hole because of Courtney Love, but, admittedly, it's grunge.

Edit: Damn it, swhilly beat me to it.
My heart beats in 4/4, not the other way around.

Silverchair's first 3 albums, though their 4th is amazing it isn't grunge.

Don't touch their 5th album, just don't.

Check out 14 songs for Greg Sage and the Wipers. It's a tribute album, but it's got some great unknown grungish bands on there playing some great songs.

Radiohead's first album was usually lumped in with grunge.
Babes in Toyland is the best grunge you'll ever hear.
If you like Nirvana, you'll like 1987-1994 Sonic Youth.

the new brand new album seems to have a grunge-y influence.

please be more detailed of what band?
if you mean sonic youth, there new album is gold.

for a 2000's Album it was great.

not trying to be a modernday music nazi, but i honestly think there a few bands that havnt been around since the days off good music are good,

most new bands are terrible!

Pablo honey was radio heads First Album, Correct?

They haven't really been pop-punk since their first album.

Also, grunge bands are generally discussed in the Modern Rock forum, not here, and there's most likely already a fair sized thread there for it, not to mention the recommendations thread.

EDIT: *reported* so it can either be moved or closed.

(Fixed ) Melvins were grunge just during their first years. I'm pretty sure they're recognized as a sludge metal band.
