So I've encountered many tabs that have this at some point "5h6p5". I always wondered what the use of the p5 is. Your holding down the string on 6, so pulling off another finger on 5 won't make any difference or am I missing something?

Ok, so what do you do when you see 6p5? Do that after you hammer onto 6. Like 5h6 6p5.

I thought it was pretty straight forward, but apparently not.

You pull off your finger from 6. fret. But you have to have your other finger on 5. fret before you release 6. fret.

essentially what you wrote is hit 5 hammer on 6 pull off 6 resulting in 5 again

Oh like that, I thought it was:
Hit 5 hammer on 6 pull off 5

Thanks guys
