Are the low quality bc richs really as bad as people say they are, what price range is considered to be 'low-quality', and will a £350-£400 sound good/ not fall apart after a week?

You have to get into the high end $1,000 plus until you get good quality, but honestly and guitar with humbuckers can downtune and get the tone you want.

Not really. The NT and NJ neck thru models, with Original Floyd Roses, EMG pickups/Rockfield pickups/occasionally BDSM pickups are good, and most $500+ pre-1991 models are pretty good, too.

Low end Jackson's are decent as well, though I prefer low end Ibanez's.

The kicker is... they don't.

Get off the BC Rich hate bandwagon. The low end models don't represent the quality of the entire line of instruments.

It does however represent the majority of their lines.

I don't think it's a vast majority, though. Maybe 55%/45%. They have a lot of really nice guitars.
