Am I using the amp's preamp, if I'm plugged into the rear panel of it or into the power input? Why I want to know this, is that I have Zoom G9.2tt and it has a cabinet simulator which can be turned on to make the pedal become a preamp itself or something like that. Am I actually playing through an amp, when I'm doing this or just using the speakers? I know that cabinet simulator has to be turned on while being connected to straight to PA or loudspeakers.

If you plug your zoom into the 'receive' jack of the effects loop...you're bypassing your amp's preamp section and just using the power amp to amplify the zoom. I think this is what you mean...

And "recieve" is the same as "return", right? Marshall's all have "return" instead.
Thank you very much!
