So I downloaded the Audacity software because I heard some good things about it, I hooked up my amp to the computer, etc etc. And when I start playing the audio levels go REALLY high for a few seconds. Then drop down to a lower level, and it doesnt matter if I wait for a while before I start playing the first few notes are really loud and garbagey sounding. The sound is also WAYYY gainier on the computer than on the amp, anybody know what the deal is?

I don't think it's a problem with the distortion, i believe it's something with the mic or maybe the software. I'd contact Audacity, i could imagine they had a website with a forum or something?
