Last time I checked Canada isn't the globe.

EDIT: It shouldn't be called global warming anyway, it should be called global climate change.

lol you have no knowledge of what global warming is. Record setting weather and you think that means nothing is wrong?

I just find the notion that humans somehow were able to actually raise the global temperature of the Earth over 100 years and that it's our fault and is an environmental crisis to be somewhat far fetched. Then when politicians start enacting expensive policies about a theory founded on inconclusive data, it really pisses me off.

E-cookie for whoever finds me the TIME magazine (I think) article from about 30 years ago where they thought we were going into another ice age.

Mmhmm. I love how people think they know something is gonna happen even though we've only kept record of it for something like 40-50 years out of the few thousand years people have kept history.

And I hate the "warming" bit, we've had record low temps this summer and it's effing cold compared to what I remember as a kid. We never had snow this early when I was little, and last year I think the first snow was mid-October. I'm surprised we haven't seen it yet.

theres been records since hte early 1900's, did you know the 30's were alot hotter then it is presently? there was also global cooling in teh 70s

i bet you know nothing about the earths natural temperature variations, solar flares, and how we are coming out of a ice age since 10000 years ago, without the ice age it only makes sense that arctic glaciers are still receding.

im in university, i hear the spew about global warming daily, i know a lot about it. but im not complaining, being an engineer i will make hundreds of thousands in income being hired making "green technology"

Exactly. Many scientists believe the Earth is however many billions of years old, and some people are worried about temperature fluctuations over a period of 100 years. Then it becomes a political opportunity to take advantage of a "crisis".

Ok, I'm reading the treaty right now and not really finding anything like what he described.

All 200 pages, lol?

Just look on the side of the video, it highlights some important parts (with the pages they are found on the treaty).

I don't hear enough to claim to "know", but logic tells me not to buy into all of it. Like you said, propaganda, fear tactics, etc. I also don't buy that anyone can know that the human element has done enough to make much of an impact on natural events.

edit: Oh oops, you didn't quote me but refuted what someone said. My bad.

Go read the IPCC's reports and then tell me that it doesn't happen.

lol, id like to see some natural evidence before i read information about the ability of a molecule to retain thermal energy. Temperatures the last 5 years have been reclining, thats all the evidence one should need, 2002 was the peak, it hasnt gotten up there since. hence not increasing.

1) If you think there's going to be a "Communist world government", you should probably learn something about what "Communism" means. He's talking at a FREE MARKET INSTITUTE; there's no way I'm trusting a word he's saying about that. "ZOMG Obama and the EU are pinkos." Yeah, ok.
Not to mention he's a "Lord." So what, he was born to a rich mummy and daddy? Titles of nobility are a completely outdated concept. My impression: Some asshole who has read too much Ayn Rand and is desperately clinging to his eighteenth century way of life.

2) The United States won't be able to get out of it? Yeah right! Who's going to stop us, the United Nations? Just like they stopped us from invading Iraq, am I right?

I'm sure the treaty just involves some environmental restrictions that FREE MARKET CAPITALISTS just can't have.

Chances that it is natural are less than 5%. I direct you to the IPCC for all of the mountains of physical evidence you could ever need.

The Fourth Assessment Report (AR4) was completed in early 2007.[40] Like previous assessment reports, it consists of four reports, three of them from its working groups.

Working Group I dealt with the "Physical Science Basis of Climate Change." The Working Group I Summary for Policymakers (SPM) was published on February 2, 2007[41] and revised on February 5, 2007.[42] There was also a February 2, 2007 press release.[43] The full WGI report[44] was published in March. The key conclusions of the SPM were that:[45]

* Warming of the climate system is unequivocal.
* Most of the observed increase in globally averaged temperatures since the mid-20th century is very likely due to the observed increase in anthropogenic (human) greenhouse gas concentrations.
* Anthropogenic warming and sea level rise would continue for centuries due to the timescales associated with climate processes and feedbacks, even if greenhouse gas concentrations were to be stabilized, although the likely amount of temperature and sea level rise varies greatly depending on the fossil intensity of human activity during the next century (pages 13 and 18).[42]
* The probability that this is caused by natural climatic processes alone is less than 5%.
* World temperatures could rise by between 1.1 and 6.4 °C (2.0 and 11.5 °F) during the 21st century (table 3) and that:
o Sea levels will probably rise by 18 to 59 cm (7.08 to 23.22 in)

Lets just keep pumping carbon dioxide into the environment. It will never do us any harm.

While we're at it why don't we just stop recycling? Those massive bodies of water that surround us should be able to handle all of the garbage.

the global termperature changing half a degree, as htey expect, with a maximum of 2 degrees changed, would not be enough to cause "catastrophic" glacier meltings.

I sure do

1. wikipeda=/= a source
I didn't realise I was writing an academic article.
I can post the actual IPCC report if you'd like.

2. a single source is never enough

Notice the footnotes, it is not a single source.
And the IPCC the assessment report is not a single source, in any way. It is the cumulation of evidence from hundreds of sources. It is the biggest collection of scientific evidence of climate in the world.
Ever hear of meta analysis? That's what the IPCC reports are. They review all of the literature, they do not conduct their own research. You can easily find their reports online if you wish.
3. i can find a large amount of information contradicting yours, which also is pro-global-warming making the information pretty much useless

Then do it.

(ignore the opinion shit, go to the facts part)
quotes the IPCC even, but look at the chance of humans causing global warming, more around 66-50%.

anyways i got 1 contradicting article for you, too lazy to get mroe. i got class in 6 hours so i need to get some sleep

here got another one for you, since the last one wasnt as a reputable source as id prefer, this one is news oriented so a little better http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/02/01/tech/main2420509.shtml
quotes it at 90% chance of humans, again contradicting your information.
