Hello everybody,

This is my first time writing in the bass forum; I'm usually in the Guitar Gear section. Anyhow, the bass player in my band is looking for a new bass.

- Our kind of music is spanish alternative rock (if it matters)
- Price range is around $500 (give or take)
- He's looking for the nicest sound and playability (and looks of course!) around that price range

Please give me opinions about this. List all the alternatives you can think of and I'll show them to him. I'd help him but I'm quite ignorant when it comes to bass.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

- Augusto

Yeah, the Jazz or Precision basses would be fine for that. I'm partial to ESP and Yamaha, myself. The Yamaha line would probably do better though. They've got a good earthy tone.

That's a good place to start.

Do you feel warm within your cage?

And have you figured out yet -

G&L tribute would perform excellently.

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.
