I found a jcm900 slx on my local c-list and was hoping to turn a profit on it (after playing it a while of course). It's $950 for the halfstack. The head is like new and the cab is rather used, but could be repaired. It's a 1960a stocked with g12t-75's, which all still work according to the seller.

Good deal? Bad deal? Could I turn a profit after fixing up the cab?

Id say its a good deal. But of course, i haven't seen the cab condition.

The most profit you'd be able to turn would be $50. No one who knows their stuff would pay more than $350 for a 1960 cab unless it's from the '60s or '70s.

In Canada, they're going for $450. Sucks.

I was thinking that, for the pair, the cost was pretty low, but I'm now seeing that 500-600 is about the going price for the head itself.

Looks like a no-go.

For some reason, all I see when I read that is:

not much profit unless you rip someone off. It's a square, even deal. The cab, especially if worn, is not worth more than a few hundred.
