one of you needs to play the vocal melody over the other playing the guitar part, no vocals required now

Towns Vanzant- Pancho and lefty, Dollar bill blues(a really good song that one person can get alot out of).

Any thing by Willey and the boys(johnny cash ect..)

Some Bob dylan and Steve Earl. Plenty of acoustic stuff there or at least something a clean tone can do.

Are the pubbies gonna just be chillin doing their regular thing? Like sitting at the bar knocking back drinks, or do you think they expect a "show", if you know what i mean.

Id go with the drunken irish dad song from family guy. An accoustic version of "one burbon, one scotch and one beer"

and If there are rednecks you can always go with some Hank williams...

Speaking of country music anything by George strait is a sure fire win in a bar scene.

Leaving on a Jet Plane- John Denver is a good one for a melody/chord duo, Layla Unplugged would be a hit

Kind of a half and half there, it's a big place and I'll have half of it to myself so the crowd will be seated around the whole place, it can get pretty packed. They know they're getting music so I'm expecting them to sit in front of us while we play, if not for the music the dirty old bastards will want to be close to my missus hahah.

Have you thought about bringing a drum machine then?, in case a few of the folks decide to dance. Something for a little rhythm on a few songs.

More song suggestions. I used to tend bar in a bar very similar(i think) to the one you described. The customers pretty much liked a few oldies, like real old, thrown in here and their. Here are a few suggestions that you could pick up on really quickly if need be.

The Great Pretender, by the platters.. old people slow dancing music right there.
Silver Wings by Merle Haggard
Stand by Me

Some songs the more younger middle aged Crowd used to always play on the juke box at my bar,

Bob Seger-Night Moves, New York State of Mind, Turn the Page.
Stevie Nicks-Landslides
Billy Joel-piano man...don't know if it works with out the harmonica
Towns Van Zant: Dollar bill blues. personal fav.
