Some of you might remember I traded a Rectoverb for a Krank Krankenstein about a month ago. Well I just traded the Krank for this:

why!! why did you get rid of the KRank?!

LOL I think you know why...

Oh, thanks for reminding me this... what's the rule when you pull out two power tubes?
#8
So having 2 tubes at 4 ohms will be = to having 4 tubes at 8 ohms?
So I can use an 8 ohm cab right?

Why do you have an 8 ohm cab? Ohms need to match no matter what. Did you know it only had 2 power tubes? That's almost $40 right there. Additionally, when two tubes are pulled it is usually the 2 outer ones not the 2 inner ones, although the 2 outer tubes work as a pair as do the inner 2. I'm not super familiar on the JSX from a technical perspective so I would ask in the Only XXX/JSX/Ultra thread or send Peavey an email. It should also make a mention in the owner's manual.

I know on my amp, when I want to run at half power, I cut my ohms down to 4. Because I knew I would always run at 4, I bought a 4 ohm cab.

Oh well I'll make things less complicated and put back the original EL34 tubes in, I got them in the trade also.

You shouldn't even run an amp without having all the tubes in.

HNAD!

Love the JSX... but I don't think I'd trade either of the other two amps you had for one

Either way, I'm sure it works better for you, they sound great!

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

That's because of camera placement, the mirror doesn't reflect a lot of light.
Thanks for the comments on my setup, that's actually the least complicated one I use most of the time downstairs to not disturb the GF.

Well the Rectoverb sounded good, but not my type of sound, I traded for the Krank because I figured it was worth more, and now this trade because the JSX is worth a little bit more and is easier to sell. It also makes me try a good deal of amps. I use the Fireball most these days.

Really? I've seen JSXs for ~$600, Rectoverb and Stein are worth significantly more from all the ones I've seen lately

Either way, I'd agree, it's probably easier to get rid of, especially over the Krank

Oh well, guess they're more expensive here, because Rectifiers are being sold all over the place here, but I rarely see the JSX, and it's quite more expensive when I see it for sale. Either way, I paid 800$ (CND) for the Rectoverb, I don't see the JSX going for less than that. Different market I guess
