Yeh, I'm goin with a double-cut. It's vaguely the same as a Les Paul Double Cutaway.
You can call me Aaron.

Me: No, I play by hand.

it looks like a strat style body... a lot of new musicians go with this body type for some reason...

its alot more comfortable than a strat body, and the way the bottom cut away is shaped makes it really easy to play the higher frets.

it looks badass too.

Except that the neck joint makes it difficult to play the higher frets...

Double cutaway. If you imagine a guitar as a block of wood, the two horns were caused by two cuts away from the original shape, hence: Double Cutaway.

For the people saying SE, I'm fairly certain that just means Student Edition (read as on a budget). As far as the shape name ... don't know, Warmoth refers to it as a VIP style body. I don't think I'd call it a PRS style double cut either because the upper horn extends beyond the body frame of where an LP or Single Cut is. Not to mention that PRS does have a double cut model (mira) in there own style already. Well, that's just me being picky.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

+1

SE is flat top...no carve...it has 24 frets. The SE custom 22 is the same body shape with a 22 fret neck. I believe it's generally called an offset body.
