Could someone tell me the key of The Wind Cries Mary by Jimi Hendrix?

I've been looking around in tabs and websites and i can't seem to find it anywhere :X

Thanks

Yeah, F major.
Only play what you hear. If you don’t hear anything, don’t play anything.

So if i wanted to do some easy improvisation over the song, would i play the F major pentatonic? Or the minor? (that sounds so much like a stupid question, but i have to ask it anyway :P)

You could play F Major and/or F Major pentatonic over it. This is just personal taste, bit I'd also throw in the little Eb-E-F run at the end of the solo.

But remember Jimi tuned half a step down

Not on this song.

With a song like that, it sounds cooler (to me) if you solo using the melody. When a song has such a memorable melody try and play off that instead of inserting blues licks all over the place.
