I never realized being so many states away would really hit me this much.
That is.
Until I sat up one night
writing to and reading letters from you
post marked several weeks ago.
Its 2:27 am and the only company I keep is the sound of october wind rustling through the trees across campus.
Or the faint noise of the passing crowds
with their drunken yells and intoxicated laughter.
And the more I try to write about the moon
or the sky
or the breeze
the more dumbstruck I become.
I can't compare your touch to the feel of a crisp fall morning
Or personify november twilight before a flurry storm.
And the more I try to force it, the more I see scratch outs fill my notebook.
So maybe instead I'll flip through picture after picture
trying to fill the void I've created
with nostalgia.
As though I'm reaching back in time
picking a moment and repiecing it
frame by frame
Like a movie that's been rerun a thousand times
but only to see your favorite parts
over
and
over.
And it seems I've forgotten how to befriend the shadows that dance slowly across my walls
or how to embrace the noises of a common providence night.
It's 4:20am and I'm still awake.
Maybe it's time I seal your letters
and end them all with the same, simple line
Sincerly
yours.

wow.. i'd love to hear the melody to this, please dont be a typical UG'er and make it a death metal prog shred song. it has a lot of potential as a soft, expressive tune.

thank you.
haha nah im not one for writing death metal. I dont have any music to this yet, but I was sort of just singing it while writing it. when i get around to it i'll try and record something.

I like this. it's good. it's not extremely simple, but it's not like those lyrics that people write where they use to so many random words and make random lines that honestly mean absolutely nothing. I liked "I can't compare your touch to the feel of a crisp fall morning"

I hate it when you struggle to find things to write about, and you definitely captured it.

It's easy to think about that girl that has been so much a part of your life...but then it's only memory and no reality...

Check this out if u wouln't mind, and let me know what you think
