Hi all.

Sorry if this is a crummy question but Id like to record some stuff so I can re-record it at a later date and check my progress.
Unfortunately I dont have the finances for posh gear to do this so im trying it the basic way.
I am using:
Ibanez GRG170DX
Peavey Vypyr 30 amp

I have connected via line out-line in cable to my laptop from my amp and recorded via the Sound Recorder in Windows XP but the feedback is awful.
Am i doing something wrong here? Is there a way to stop it. Any programs I could install to correct it.

Thanks in advance for any help on this issue.

try using Audacity. its a free program you can download, just google it, and its MILES ahead of sound recorder. do you get any feedback playing normal without line out plugged in? does the vypyr have a noise gate built in? try enabling that if it does.

+1, audacity is simple but effective.
