Pit! I need help! I have my first gig coming up, a solo Folk thing, but I'm getting a bit sick, and losing my voice...It's too short notice to cancel

Now I've been drinking a lot of tea with honey, and water with lemon juice, avoiding talking, etc

Any other tips to get my voice back by tonight?

Tbh, your probably just getting nervous, I had this the other day, I'd spent my luch time shouting in a game and my throat felt ****ed, just keep hydrated, keep talking and mabey buy something like a throat spray from a music shop if there's one open. Good luck with tonight.

Get some sleep. Warm up VERY well before you get on stage. You'll be fine.

In my world, the color RED doesn't exist.

don't have crisps of fizzy drinks, and try to avoid dairy products as they'll make you flemmy

First part I disagree on. If you have your throat messed up; the WORST thing you can do is sleep; because there's a possibility of drying your throat even more, if you sleep breathing through your mouth.

Warming up before going on stage is recommended though.
Also, honey is great, tea is good; NO dairy products, fizzy drinks, or anything crispy though.
Water helps, but be careful not to drink too much of it.
You might urinate on stage that way.

Do NOT WHISPER! Whispering puts more strain on your voice. If you must talk, talk at normal volume. Warm green tea might also make your voice better. Maybe take a really hot shower with lots of steam? That's helped my voice loosen up and it soothes sore throats. Just relax, it'll turn out fine.

Black tea and a bit of lemon. Take a quick nap.

I usually have to do this if I'm gigging more than twice a week, you'd be surprised how well it can work.

I don't understand why this is. Personally, I feel my throat relax when I whisper - but I could be wrong.

Warm water and honey.
The very existence of flamethrowers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

There is a singing thread. But you're apparently too much of an asshole to link him to it, or teach us anything.

- inflamed vocal chords
- dry throat
- nervousness/fear/shock

there. reasons why he might lose his voice.

Also, dont take in too much sugar, cause it'll dry your throat more than will lubricate it. Just stay relaxed and pour on the water.

Make the best use of your adversity and learn some AC/DC tunes.

I did however take advantage of it and play a Kings Of Leon song
