ok guys im a guy w/ straight rock and roll roots. but i joined a new band and it'sl kind of like a prog, electonic, almost robotic song we're working on. the other guys compare it to the dead kennedys and radiohead. anyway theres an improv part for me and my rock scales just dont fit
any suggstions as to what scales etc i can learn?
we're playing a show 2morrow nite
thanks

Just... play? Don't think and just do? When I improv, that's all I really do, and sometimes the mistakes you make sound better than what you actually had in mind.

If you really want a scale though, the chromatic scale will do.

If you have a book of modes for piano, check that out.
