Well if it's straight single coils I wouldn't suggest it for erm, metal. But I love strats and the early japenese ones were near same level of Americans, that's why they're not made in japan anymore.

Then strats are your best freind. They have that singing bite that screams classic rock and blues. To CAN do metal, the pup would need to be out of phase to not hum.
