Okay, do you have any ideas of what kind of sound you're looking for? If You can tell us what kind of sound you're looking for, we can help direct you to one that would probably suit you. Some good brands to be aware of in this range are Takamine, Alvarez, Yamaha (whether or not it's acoustic electric is unknown to me), Seagull....and there's some other brands that some people will be able to recommend for your budget.

only one in that price range i'd consider myself - the yamaha fgx730s. try one at a guitar center and see what you think, but i find it sounds and feels better than the similar priced competition.
