So i saw an add for a Bugera V22 tube amp for $400 and i jumped with excitement thinking it was an expensive boutique amp, only to google it and figure out that its about $550 at GC.
Am i thinking of Rivera??
Anyway, this amp a good amp for home practice? I like van halen and zepplin, but also appreciate a think grunge.
Let me know your input on this

Rivera amps are pretty expensive, and very nice. Bugera are pretty decent, but some people have had reliability issues from what I understand. 400$ for a nice tube amp is a very good deal, if it's the right kind of amp for what you play. 22 watts will be pretty loud for practice at home if you live with other people, but should work nicely for playing with a drummer.

Rivera is definitely not a boutique company. Are they nice, well built amps? Yes. Boutique? No.

A boutique amp is normally hand-wired, custom built. Something like a Swart, Splawn, Matamp, Electric, Metroamp, Brown Note...

What type of music do you play?
Do you play with a band?
Are you going to play in a band?
Budget?
Willing to go used?

How do you say "I'm okay" to an answering machine?

Bugera V22s go for $350 last I checked.

For your budget you could get-
Egnater Rebel 30
used Marshall JCM combo
used Vox AC30
Vox Night Train
Bugera V55 head and Avatar cab
AC15

-Gibson LP VM
-Silvertone Kentucky Blue
-MXR CC Delay
-Ibanez TS-9
-Egnater Rebel 20
-Avatar 1x12

My rig is simple
Haha. UG's Chuck just said chuck. haha
You're not truly playing guitar unless you know theory.

+1

Also consider the Marshall Class 5.

Pretty much any of these would be perfect (possibly excepting the AC30 and AC15) for Van Halen and Led Zeppelin.

You could also save up a bit and get a Budda Superdrive 18.
