Hi guys I was just wondering I've seen a lot of people on here saying that active pups especially EMG's sound crap through solid state amps but I was wondering since my amp (see sig) is "transtube" would it be any better as its designed to sound like a tube amp

No, not really. It kinda has to have valves for it to work like that.

I don't know about actives sounding shit through solid state but my passive emgs sound great through my bandit 112.

I've made a thread about this, apparently they don't sound like complete crap in SS/transtubes but will be MUCH better through an all-tube high gain amp.

my ec 1000 w/emg 81/60 sounds shitloads better than my jackson with passive emgs (which still sounds pretty good for what i use them for) through my vypyr which is transtube i believe. If that helps
