Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew of any websites that give a basic guide to japanese brands like tokai and samick etc, like older ones that our now appreciating a little.

I almost bought a Samick les paul copy today, 91 vitange. Was cheap, wish I had of now. Not highly valuable, but I like idea of collecting popular cheaper axes of some rarity.

http://www.guitarsjapan.com/about.html

some good info there if you scroll to the bottom and click on the logos.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

Is it possible to spend around $1500-$2000 on something semi rare and will appreciate (not looking to make lots of money clearly)?

I was thinking a strat of some sort. Maybe a high end Greco or Tokai, or what about a Japanese Fender?
