Hey guys!
I've build a passive volume pedal and it makes a lot of noise when connected infront of distortion pedal or amp (only distorted mode makes noise), like it's grounding problem or something.
Here are the photo of the pedal and schematic I used

what's the problem, use shielded wire for in-out or it needs metal enclosure?

Thanks for help!

metal enclosure is highly recomended. Is that one not metal?

shielded cable wouldn't hurt. where are your input and output leads?

The schem is just fine.

If you think it's a grounding problem, did you actually check the grounding?

Yeah, it's plastic, it was some shitty wah, so decided to make a volume pedal, as I need one.
I've desoldered them, it was like 4 wires.
When I hold the guitar and take the pedal from the floor for ~20cm hight (pedal in hand), then the noise is gone, when I put it back on the floor it makes noise.

mm, I guess the metal enclosure would solve the problem, but it costs like a new pedal, I've put some "metal paper" in and noise became lower

ok, so the foil didn't make much of a difference, so I'm thinking of building a volume pedal descratcher.
Question, will it fix the problem of noise?

I didnt download the file because I'm at work.. but from thedescription, it just looks like thats for a scratchy pot. not for stopping buzzing and humming

Wohoo, problem solved proper shielding made the trick
(i admit that the first attempt of foiling was a fail, you will see in the pictures why)

shielding it, yeah. use multiple layers. hell, 3 layers of aluminum foil made my amp as quiet as a graveyard.

thanks, Jim, your advice was correct (I was too lazy to go and buy a proper aluminium foil tape, but I did in the end )
