What is your off-season workout?

Mainly cardio to build stamina. A small amount of weights focussing on the right wrist, with careful stretching to maintain flexibility.

What is your pre-season workout?

Daily endurance tests. Start to integrate the left wrist.

Lasts 3-4 hours, warm up involves the internet/peanut butter and a willing dog. No need to cool down.

I get a physio to give me a once over every week.

Goggles and black bin bags.

Carpal tunnel syndrome, temporary blindness, slipping and the resulting concussion.

I dont know if it matters what sport but this is for wrestling.

Off season is weight training Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, then HIIT Tuesday and Thursday.

Pre-season, my wrestling team starts having improptu practices about 3 months before the season starts.

Practice starts off with full body stretches, then we have a high intensity cardio warmup(stairs, long distance runs, etc). Aftr that we move straight into practicing moves for an hour as hard as we can go. Then we have 30 minutes of live wrestling, which is usually done in a 3 man cycle(two rounds on, one off, 30 second rounds) At the end we have more high intensity cardio, usually up-downs.

Injuries are mostly prevented by stretching. You get hurt in wrestling, but nothing that lasts more than a couple hours.

The only real protectie gear we have is the headgear to prevent your ears from being ripped off on the mat, and a mouthguard if you have braces.

Common injuries are pulled muscles from those people who are too cool for warm up stretching.

Rehab that by rest and gradual daily stretching.

We don't have a season schedule yet, it doesnt really start til november. Right now we're just doing 2 hour practie twice daily, morning and afternoon. Once the season starts, we'll have 2 practices daily, and 3 on match days. Morning, before a match, and immediately after the match.

I'd never do the peanut butter thing obviously, but I've often wondered whether it'd actually work or the dog would just bite.

Yeah my reply wasn't really serious, I'd assume it'd just lick it off but I don't really know.
