I am from N.Ireland and sectariansim happens a lot over here. Catholic and Protestants have different football teams, schools, estates ect...

So I was wondering how bad religious sectarianism is were you live?

Religious Sectarianism - is basically hatred or distrimination towards people becasue of thier religious beliefs
#2
Meh, not that bad, but mainly because everyone is Catholic.

slim to none, you can pretty much think whatever you can (religously) without having any hatred against you...

On political views on the other hand, if you dare to think/say ANYTHING, that might even SLIGHTLY disrupt 1 type of persons life (how small this group is, and how little they have to do with what you think/say), you get flamed, hated and everything bad on top of you...

Yeah, I do tend to ignore that and just say what I think

Psh, at least they're not atheists.

Here we either have absolutely insane Christians (like my gilrfriend :cry or the kids who are not only atheist but scream it to the world in hopes it makes them cool. . . I'm atheist and I often really don't like the way a lot of Christians here act but I don't really tell them off

EDDIT: Oh and the only conservatives we have only know that they're conservative from their parents, whilst the liberals are super competitive and all think I'm an idiot for having a lot of conservative beliefs.

There's a town called Holland near Muskegon (I used to live in Muskegon) and it's kinda bad there. You can't buy alcohol at all on Sundays in that county, and a lot of the people in Holland believe it's a (prepare yourself for a cliche) sin to mow your lawn on Sunday. Some of the hardcore among them don't even believe in driving your car on Sunday, other than to go to church. The people will even prepare most of the Sunday meals on Saturday, the only preparation they'll do on Sunday will be heating the food. It's nuts.

yeah i live in texas... everyone in my home town hates muslims and sometimes indians (from india in case you were wondering). I'm guessing the indians get flak since most people here are too stupid to tell the difference. Also im agnostic, heavily leaning towards atheist. Pretty much if you weren't christian you weren't too popular in high school, at least in my experience, not as bad in other parts of the state.

I stayed in a town called Holland once, but it was in Massachusetts (on the Connecticut border).

Until very recently, there were no Sunday sailings to Stornoway; there's now one each way between Stornoway and Ullapool.
Haven't been there in years, but Sundays blew there, as well.

Well not much over here since most people are Catholic. However, I'm Jewish and I didn't get much crap about it. Most people over here don't really care about religion.

Scotland has the highest levels of obesity in europe so its good exercise.

Seriously though i think Rangers and Celtic tend to inflate the sectarian situation. I think if the OF didnt exist there would hardly be any sectarianism. Its not as bad as it was 5 years ago.

Go to A&E at the GRI on an Old Firm match day. It's still bad.

Not so much.... Most people in the US don't care who you worship (as long as its christian) or what color your skin is (as long as it's white).

Ok I'm joking (mostly). But I see a lot of rascism in the US and in the cities/suburbs in particular. Most people here are either agnostic or some denomination of christian and they seem to get along ok; though there are exceptions in some states.

Where I stay sectarianism is made out to be a bigger problem than it is; for instance, the other day someone in my school beat shit out of someone from the Catholic school up the road so we all got talks on sectarianism yet the reason the fight happened was because one of them owed the other £20.
