I don't know what forum this thread goes in, but hey ho.

So at the moment i am having a really hard time trying to find a band, its not because i suck at guitar or anything, i mean i could be much better but i don't think i am a bad guitarist and other people have said i am good at making songs and such. The main problem i find is, i don't know hardly any drummers or bassists, and those that i do know are already in bands, so really there is just a saturation of guitarists at the moment.

There are a few ways around this, i mean at the moment me and a friend are sorting out this acoustic thing, its just me on guitar and her singing, which sounds pretty cool, and for a while i moved more to acoustic, but i feel the need to play some rock music too. Another thing that gets in the way a bit, is that i also play bass, and everybody knows this, so people are trying to get me to play bass for them, don't get me wrong, i find it fun but i prefer playing guitar and am better at guitar.

Please don't say "cool blog bro" or whatever else.

TL;DR-Too many guitarists, not enough musicians who play other things, anyone else have the same problem?

speaking from experience, if you are having a lot of trouble getting a band together, then instead of a band being your main focus right now, focus on woodshedding and improving your chops. then, when you eventually do find talented players, youll be more advanced in your songwriting and playing abilities, much more so than if you had spent that time failingly trying to get a group together. i dont know, thats just how i went about it

I play guitar, drums and bass, but my problem is that nobody I know plays anything. At least you've got something to work with.

Ya I have no bassist or singer... or even another guitarist. I have a drummer though

Well i mean i play my guitar probably every day, i seem to be constantly trying to come up with new ideas and such for both acoustic and electric, i have a few songs knocking around for both but there is just no way of using them in any way.

My brother has the exact same problem, :P. I guess I was fortunate cuz I met the best drummer, bassist and singer in my area in it turned out great.

Well if you only know musicians in other bands, I guess the only thing you could do would just be to....meet new people.

Yeah i am on a music course at uni, but there is an amazing amount of guitarists on the whole department, hardly any drummers, suppose i gotta get myself out there now as i haven't really connected with anyone properly yet.

I am also considering sending out a classified or something.

I bet if you offered sex for cash instead of trying to be in a band, you would be better off.
If it were socially acceptable, I would drape myself in velvet.
