Well, my next guitar will prob be an explorer shape guitar, so I need some suggestions on which is the best in your opinions. Once I got your opinions, I'll prob go check out the "best guitars". All have pretty good reviews and pretty bad reviews, which is normal, so i was wondering if anyone of you have any opinions on their sound, comfortability, the stock hardware, ect? Anything would be appreciated.

Thanks.

PS. I am going to get a new amp with the new guitar, don't worry

I won't spend more than $500, have to find it on a site/shop with a monthly payment plan.
I do play mostly metal, but like to dabble in other types so good versatility is a bonus, but not entirely needed.

Yeah, but I can't really get more than $500 for it
Unless someone knows a site where it sells for $500, then I could make zzounds do the beat the price deal

Maybe? lol I just love the Destroyer, it's my favorite "Explorer" guitar. If it was me I would look for a used Destroyer, but I have played all of those except the Goth and the ESP was my favorite. Plus, it is just plain beautiful. The Dan Jacobs sig is quite nice too, for the trem.
I like Explorers too btw.

Any opinions on the guitars listed though? I'm trying to go new, cuz you never really do know with used.

I would say the Korina. It seems like the Goth series always fall apart easy and the LTD, as much as I like LTD's, just looks cheap. I've never tried the Kelly. Don't be afraid to buy used if you can buy at a local shop. I've never bought a new guitar and I've been playing off and on for a long time.

I'd go for that new Epi '84 reissue. It is $600 but c'mon, another $100? Sell an ear or something.

You never really do know with new either, unless you can test play the exact one you're buying... same as used.

Funny how that works.

Have you looked at the '79 Series Dean Z's yet? They're right at your limit of $500. MF doesn't carry them for some reason but Sam Ash does. I can never get a link of theirs to work right on UG so you'll have to find it. I can give you a link to Google Shopping though

Will preamp tubes turn black and melt slightly undernormal conditions and still work?

Do yourself a pleasure and save up until you can afford a Jackson KE3 Kelly. In Black.

Always in Black.
