Building this one for fun... no client yet.

Tasmanian Blackwood body... SS shape

Macassar Ebony top

matching headstock... Ebony fretboard over Rock Maple

Dont know what inlays to do just yet. Im thinking either Black Tahitian Pearl Sharks like I do on a lot of my guitars, or, maybe something like an eagle in flight... a grizzly bear, or something similar in detail to this one I did last year:

What you think?????

Perry Ormsby

Looks totally awesome mate. Like the idea of a tiger but the thing is that i would have thought that would have worked better with a "tiger eye" flame maple top lol.

Ormsby you should do something detailed like the tiger, sharks are more likely to turn up on commisions, so go a bit crazy on the inlay for this one

OMG, its not even done yet and I still want. Beautiful grain, but for inlays I would go with the tiger, except make it a white tiger, like the siberian tiger.

Which isn't actually white.
White tigers are a genetic defect.

Ive actually got some drawings of an eagle grabing a snake that I wanted to inlay a couple months ago. I might change it to a fish, because Ive been wanting to inlay water for a while.

I was liking the suggestion of a wolf. I'd love to see that on an Ormsby! Knowing your work, it'd probably be insanely....insane. I don't have words for it.

I feel like something to do with snakes would really fit with this guitar. Maybe a Taipan since they're arguably the world's most venomous snake and are indigenous to Australia?

Extrapolating from this idea, how about Taipan, the guy with long hair from the mid-90s Australian version of Gladiators?

That... right there... is a bitchin' inlay.

haha, he was the coolest. The upper body on that guy was not natural!

Hahaha no way! Ahh that's awesome. Especially because he was always the 'crazy' one of the show, who would always 'lose his temper' the fastest. If I remember correctly... when the UK and the Australian Gladiators went head to head, Vulcan jumped up into the crowd and RIPPED SOME KID'S POSTER APART.

Megadeth's old bass player has a signature Peavey Zodiac bass called the Scorpio

I vote for the eagle or the snake.
Then there's this band called Slice The Cake...

Bunch of faggots putting random riffs together and calling it "progressive" deathcore.
Stupid name.
Probably picked "for teh lulz"

I love your work Perry. Very beautiful top on this one.

If you want to do water for the inlay I thought I'd mention the old Japanese block prints of tsunamis. You could probably get a fairly large section of the fretboard covered with an inlay of that style.

This is what I was thinking

yup, they are old piano keys, made in the 20's, on a piano that was destroyed and destined for the rubbish dump. I saved what i could, six keys. It came off the back of a truck on the freeway, and was hit by another truck and destroyed. The frame was twisted, all the wood was smashed. A repair company took a bunch of the felt pads and keys, plus all the ebony and keys that were still good. I got the best of the broken ones, where the ivory overlay was still mostly intact.

If that pre-ban ivory is better off in the dump, let me know, i'll ditch them.
